| Physical Description | Lipta outwardly resembles a tan-skinned human of Asian descent (some think she looks Thai or Filipino, specifically) with reddish hair if one ignores the cartilaginous ridges that adorn her face and forehead. She often makes heads turn with her figure and is often quite happy to return gazes with the signature Denobulan smile. Speaking of her smile, though, she's picked up that some people find the unnaturally wideness of the Denobulan smile to be a bit unsettling, and so she normally restrains herself. |
Family
| Spouse | One husband and one wife, both resident on Denobulus. | |
| Children | None | |
| Father | She's lost count of the number of people who count as such. The father who spent the most time in her life was a painter called Dux. | |
| Mother | She's lost count of the number of people who technically count. She was mainly raised by a nurse practitioner called Fela. | |
| Brother(s) | Several (mostly stepbrothers). Lipta gave up counting at four. | |
| Sister(s) | Several (mostly stepsisters). She was closest to her sister Teema by her biological father's second wife before her death. | |
| What is their relationship like with their family? | Owing to the size of the typical Denobulan family, Lipta isn't super familiar with most of the people in her family (and extended family). She remains on good terms with her 'mother' Fela and 'father' Dux, however, and writes home as and when she is able. She pays a visit to Teema's grave as a tradition whenever she returns home, lest circumstances disallow her to do so. |
Personality & Traits
| What is a specific, short-term goals do they have? | Lipta would like to undergo courses to become a fully-fledged combat medic. To this end she trains to enhance her stamina and physical fitness whenever she is able - which is presently not often, given her duties. | |
| What is a broad, long-term goals do they have? | Lipta would like to raise a family of her own one day - though she's aware that serving in Starfleet that might be easier said than done, what with her duties as a doctor and the differing attitudes of her colleagues towards the Denobulan style of relationships. | |
| What kind of person do they want to be? | Lipta would be pleased to bits if she ever one day made chief medical officer. Failing that she aspires to have her name in a medical journal as part of a landmark case - and yes, that does include the sordid possibility that she might be the patient on the receiving end of treatment in said landmark case. Either way, she gets to make her mark in medicine and that's enough for her. | |
| Describe a hobby they have or a community they are a part of. | Lipta loves to swim, having grown up near the beach where she could sneak off to take a dip whenever she liked. You will usually find her in the water, in fact, if she's not on duty. |
| Brief History | Lipta was born and raised in a sleepy seaside city in southeastern Denobulus. Her family in particular lived in a humble-ish communal home near the beach. Her mother Fela was a nurse practitioner working in the local community hospital and so wasn't home all that often, but she lavished care upon Lipta whenever she was. Her father Dux therefore took up most of the parenting work; he didn't make that much making and selling commissioned art pieces, but it was enough to put food on the table and keep a roof over his family's heads. Her sister Teema, however, arguably drew the short straw when it comes to the genetic lottery. Unlike Lipta and her siblings she had a rare genetic condition that more or less meant that she wasn't able to leave the house very often and spent much of her time bedridden. Lipta and her mother could do little more than watch her deteriorate in despair. Despite Fela’s best efforts, Teema continued to deteriorate, right up till the day of her death, which saddened the entire family. This event, along with her mother’s stories of her work in the hospital, were the catalyst for Lipta’s eventual decision to pursue medicine with Starfleet. Lipta was one of the hardest workers in her cohort. Thinking of Teema and all the pleasures of life she’d never been able to enjoy, as well as how her being a medical officer could potentially help others in her position (in and out of Starfleet) was motivation enough for her to be more discerning with what she did with her spare time outside of studying. She took up swimming as an ECA. She would eventually graduate with a well-earned degree and be ordered to report to Outpost Sara to await further orders. |
